Championing Classic Factions

Championing Classic Factions   First off, let me start by saying that I love this idea of wearing a tabard can grant you reputation with a certain faction while running instances/ turning in quests that grant reputation. It greatly helps those of us that have alts and do not want to run a specific instance over and over again after already having it done on a few other characters. It’s also a relief for those of us on smaller population realms where it’s hard to get groups to run 5mans.   What I would like to know is do you have any other information that you can share with us on this new system?   Will there be restrictions as to which factions you can/ cannot accrue reputation gains with by wearing the tabard (i.e, will there still be factions that require you to grind rep like brood of norzdoom(sp?)/ thorium brotherhood)?   What level of reputation must be reached before we will be able to wear that specific faction’s tabard?   For factions that currently do not have tabards in game, will there be one made for them?   For BG faction reputation, if

PvE–>PvP Transfering

PvE–>PvP Transfering    As it stands, as many of us know, PvE to PvP Realm transfers are not allowed. Now, I’m sure there are more than one reason but the main one I have heard in discussion is that it is unfair to level on a PvE server and than transfer to a PvP server.   Here me out on this though. Before WoW MMO’s had nowhere near the popularity that they have, or WoW has at least, today. Many people playing this game are MMO newcomers, including myself, but that was 3 years ago. When rolling a new character not everybody understands the repercussions of what server they choose. Many, including myself, take the “suggested” realm given to them. Luckily for me I happened to get a PvP server, which after a lot of days played I realize is my style. But, if I had gotten a PvE server, leveled all the way up, and than realized I wanted a PvP server I would be screwed. I was far into my gaming when I realized there were even different server types and thanked the random generator for giving me the one I like.   Even still there are people who

Wintersaber Trainers

Wintersaber Trainers   I was thinking of coming to post the very same thing today. With the faction/mount achievements it would be nice if they FINALLY after what three years of begging allowed horde to grind for this mount too. Horde models already have a tiger riding animation (see ZG tiger mount drop), it would be another exaulted to grind, and another mount (we’re short factions and mounts vs alliance).   Please allow us horde to grinde for this mount as well. The guy shouldn’t care who gets him endless supplies of meat and it truely is an awesome looking mount. It’s never been fair it’s been alliance only especially since it’s long been announced horde will never get a counterpart. It’s unfair, it’s been unfair for years, and I’d really like to see this opened to all players who are willing to put in the time and dedication to earn one.   EDIT: Looked at the wrong date on the thread, didn’t realize I necroed it. Oh well point still stands!

Armor Penetration going to rating

Armor Penetration going to rating ——————————————————————————– Q u o t e: I always figured armor pen was *designed* to be more effective against cloth wearers, to make up for the obscene amount of stamina on TBC cloth. If they’re adjusting armor pen in favor of casters, I hope they’re also being more careful about stamina on Wrath gear. Casters are supposed to be deadly but squishy. ——————————————————————————– I think you’d find this change also benefits melee(rogues in particular) when going up against plate(prot specs specifically).   Rather than needing to pack 20K+ Armor Penetration in order to get through all of that armor, you’re now looking at getting ~75% armor penetration rating.   Which also means they can potentially let you

WoW Moviewatch: Mercy of the Sea

WoW Moviewatch: Mercy of the Sea Mercy of the Sea, Runner Up in the Action/Adventure category of the BlizzCon 2008 movie contest, is a long film, clocking in at over 23 minutes. The clip embedded above is only the first act of three acts total. You can watch the entire film by streaming it, downloading it, or watching the three YouTube clips in order. Sleeping Dogs Productions, headed by J. Joshua Diltz, which also created Rise of the Living Dead and The Island, now brings us the tale of High Priestess Elunari as she tries to rescue her kidnapped child from her power-hungry husband, the Arch Druid. Of the BlizzCon-entered movies I’ve watched this year, this one is my least favorite. While it is an undoubtedly polished production — the voice talents, music, and sound design stand out in particular — the story struggled to keep my interest, sometimes from plain confusion. The backstory takes up the first 3-1/2 minutes of the film and is told without animation, via what is essentially a slide show. It moves very slowly and provides little that we don’t

Shadow Priest talent build for Patch 3.0.2

Shadow Priest talent build for Patch 3.0.2 Echoes of Doom is here, along with all of its tasty new talent points. Things haven’t changed very much for us Shadow Priests. If you enjoyed the Shadow Priest playstyle before, you still will. The numbers you put out in terms of Healing, DPS and mana regen are wildly different, but the buttons you push are pretty much the same. If you found Shadow Priest playstyle (not necessarily the numbers game) a little stale before patch 3.0.2, this patch and even Wrath itself won’t change that very much. If you plan on sticking with Shadow, good on ya. I’m going to lay out my current Shadow talent build and explain why I picked the talents I did. Keep in mind that this spec is not for every aspect of the game. It’s not even for every player. I’m using this spec as a level 70, PvE raiding spec. It’s not perfect, I’m not completely happy with it, but I think that’s because our trees are currently meant for level 80 and not level 70. I haven’t been able to come up with something I like better yet.

Barbershop

Barbershop Anyone found one? This is the one thing I really want to play with.       You should be able to locate a Barbershop in Stormwind, Undercity, and Dalaran, however, they are not currently functional in this build.   I have been to the edge of the world looked down into the swirling miasma of the nether. Kicked a pebble into the abyss watched its slow fall into the distance and wondered at the dreadful marvel

Guildwatch: Still dropping bosses

Guildwatch: Still dropping bosses   That’s Cooldown of Darkspear, above, basking in the glory of a boss kill. While it seemed like raiding came to a standstill before BC, that’s not really the case before Wrath — while it’s certainly slower, there’s lots of people out there still killing bad guys. And Guildwatch reports on as many of them as we hear about — if you’d like to see your guild here (or have a good time on some wacky forum drama, either on the offficial forums or somewhere else), drop us a line at wowguildwatch@gmail.com. And click the link below to see this week’s drama, downed, and recruiting news from all the guilds around the realms. DRAMA ·         A Brewfest mount ninja by Forsaken on Antonidas brings out the haters, big time. On the other hand, they don’t kick the guy, though, either — if you haven’t a ninja in your guild, isn’t it your responsibility to kick him? And if you don’t kick him, doesn’t that say something about your guild? ·         Abyss on

Ghostcrawler introduced to BlizzCon

Ghostcrawler introduced to BlizzCon   One of everyone’s favorite people in the beta is Ghostcrawler. He’s out there all the time interacting with fans, talking to developers, bringing back good information and discussion. Today Tom Chilton introduced him at the class panel. He got the largest applause of the day. Everyone was very excited to get to see him and hear what he had to say. Ghostcrawler, a.k.a Greg Street, is the lead game systems designer for WoW. Basically that’s designing the classes and other systems in the game. He handled the crowed very well. He probably could do some stand up with his wit. When people booed about something they didn’t like he’d make a joke and have them laughing the very next second. Perhaps the best moment is when he jokingly said to a question about retribution paladins: “Don’t nerf me, bro!” If Blizzard wanted to make an impression that they’re listening to their fans, they most certainly did with not only having him moderate a great discussion on the beta forums for the past several
