In World of Warcraft:Are freeloaders a problem?
A few freeloaders on your roster won’t be a major issue, in most cases. You can simply hope that they’ll keep to themselves and won’t actively cause problems. They may even chip in some guild experience when they have an active day. Small guilds may actually decide to seek out such players to help them level up faster. I don’t recommend it, but you will level faster with more players, up to a point.
Larger guilds won’t benefit much from inviting freeloaders. You’ll get all the experience you need from the players you trust, so there’s no real advantage (aside from a little extra cash) to inviting more players. In fact, doing so carries a bevy of risks.
For one thing, having too many freeloaders can be bad for morale. It’s depressing when you’ve got 15 people online and no one responds to guild chat or wants to participate in guild activities. On the other side of the coin, if they’re talkative, your guild chat could quickly turn into trade chat.
Players you don’t know

Bati’s Healer Grid layouts In World of Warcraft
First, my original vanilla WoW character is back in action. Originally, as many of you have read in my past columns, priest was my class of choice. Healers tend to be my forte because of group desirability — selfishly and selflessly, I always rolled healer to get invited to groups and be there to support the healerless masses back when this was a thing. After a stint in Warhammer Online, tanking became my new love and, after a quick respec and some forum threads, my Burning Crusade healadin became my Wrath tankadin. After almost three years in the freezer, my priest has emerged from cryo-stasis.
Boy, has the priest game changed since the original Naxxramas — the world is so different now for a priest. After witnessing the second best discipline priest ever rule the school with healing and absorption, I was in love with the spec. Quickly, I rushed to the internets, pulled up a talent build and went to town. Upon loading up my priest, it dawned on me that the cardinal rule had been broken — I wasn’t

The fellowing article is the introduction to the magazine community, there offer the informations and looking for new informations.
WoW Magazine is looking for some new information, helpful hints, and feedback in the form of two polls just added on the official Warcraft forums. What’s in it for you? The best responses they receive will be incorporated into the magazine’s features as quotes, and people whose suggestions are used will have their character fully credited for the quote they provide.
The first is a request for tips, hints, and other useful information for the “Battlegrounds Back to Basics” feature, regarding Eye of the Storm in an upcoming issue:
Bashiok
The industrious gnomes and goblins at World of Warcraft Official Magazine are currently working on the next issue. One of its regular features is “Battlegrounds Back to Basics” – this time around covering Eye of the Storm
As part of that feature, we’re looking for hints and tips from EotS veterans. Is that you? If so, please feel free to post your favorite one-line

We’ll look at everything from bags to bars, buttons to DPS meters and beyond — your interface folder will never be the same! This week, the actual answer is always Power Auras, but for the sake of talking about Power Auras later, here are some other addons.
At last, we come to the final chapter in the first edition of class addons here at the AddOn Spotlight. The only classes that remain are the warrior, druid, hunter and the rogue. Behind the jump is the answer many of you awaiting, my opinion on addons for these four wonderful classes. What are you waiting for? Pull back the curtain!
Warriors, rogues, druids and hunters. Wonderful classes. Shall we jump in?
Warrior knows best
Warriors, especially of the protection variety, need to know what the heck is going on on the battlefield and when pressed up real close against a boss type. I want to recommend Event Alert for those warriors out there who do not want to deal with the occasionally steep learning curve of Power Auras.

Every week, Raid Rx will help you quarterback your healers to victory! Your host is Matt Low, the grand poobah of World of Matticus and a founder of No Stock UI, a WoW blog for all things UI, macro, and addon related.

Ah, the hero healer. It reminds me of me. Have you been in a situation where it always seems to be that one same healer which steals the spotlight raid after raid? Its as if raiding groups can’t take down bosses without that one specific healer there. It gets progressively worse when that healer starts rubbing it in the faces of other healers whether directly or indirectly. Now don’t get me wrong. A healer should be proud of what they are capable of doing.
But there are a few problems when it comes to being a hero.

Hold off on the meters
It gets really annoying if I have to endure a druid or paladin (or some other) healer consistently showing off how much healing they’ve done fight after fight. There’s no reason to echo that stuff throughout the raid. Not unless there is a legitimate healing problem, at least.

In a forum thread discussing the recent prot warrior block changes and Warbringer nerf and the state of prot warrior DPS (it’s basically acknowledged as the lowest DPS among the tanks) Ghostcrawler chimes in that they intend to buff sustained prot DPS while reducing burst in PvP. However, he quickly comes back to point that at this stage in the expansion they don’t want to make any sustained mechanical changes and so, don’t expect one. The sustained DPS increase will come from buffs to existing abilities.
While I can understand the trepidation from prot warriors at this statement (no one is terribly excited about a buff to Devastate, not even me) it’s an unfortunate but valid point he makes here. You really don’t have the time to make drastic mechanical changes this far into the cycle. We might like a more drastic solution, but with Cataclysm looming on the horizon you don’t really want to see too much tinkering with the base mechanics.
Still, please don’t just buff Devastate. Please. I’m begging you here.

For a while I wasn’t sure if I’d continue playing World of Warcraft into the next expansion. I was by no means planning on giving up my gaming habit, but I really felt like I was ready for something new: either another MMO or one of the latest generation consoles. Many pros and cons were weighed, and I have decided to stick with WoW for at least one more expansion. It was a difficult decision for me but in the end it was the rocks that won me over.
Yes, the rocks.
You see, I am part of a small, but growing number of WoW players who collect rocks. For those of you who overlook this highly sophisticated hobby, I encourage you to give it some research. Blizzard has gone through great efforts to supply an expansive assortment of wonderful, prized rocks over the years and expansions. These items are really what separate World of Warcraft from other MMOs, by adding another dimension of enjoyment to the game.

Welcome to another edition of Arcane Brilliance, the weekly mage column that would like to say to warlocks: Look… even when we’re alone, we outnumber you.
We belong to the best class in World of Warcraft. I know this because I have a checklist. Do you want to see it? Too bad, you’re going to see it anyway:

Access to enormous balls of flame: check
Can solo ICC trash: check
Can pull off wearing a dress and make it look sexy: check (see pic above)
Has a wand (though two would be even pimper): check
Can make a mean slushy: check
Can create own strudel: check
Can rock a pointy hat: chizzeck
Can create more of self: check, check, and check. Oh, and one more check (also see pic above)
Is not a warlock: check

You see? Mages meet every criteria on the checklist. The fact that I just made the checklist up is unimportant; the important thing to take away from this is that mages are, indisputably, the best class in this game.
But we aren’t perfect.
We make mistakes. Five of them, to be precise.
